Flag (14A200)
This is the U.S. National ensign or flag that was flown at the stern of the Liberty ship James Eagan Layne when she was on her final voyage. When the ship was torpedoed the flag was rescued by able seaman Earl George Blache who then carried the flag back to the United States. The flag remains in extremely good condition.
