Tank Fitting (12A30)
This brass fitting was found on the Liberty ship S.S. James Eagan Layne. The fitting has a removeable plug that can be unscrewed with a square section key. It would have been fitted into the top of a tank and with the plug removed would have allowed the level of liquid in the tank to be measured by dipping. This was fitted to No 3 tank.
